Need a 5 Minute Workout, Try the Countdown Circuit Workout

Here’s one of my favourite workouts and it’s a real staple for many Warriors. It works great when you have little time, or want to add a little something extra to the end of your cardio workouts. I also use this workout a lot when I am on the road as you can easily do it in a hotel room or in the small area next to the hotel treadmill.

Why I Love Insanity by Beachbody and Why you should too!

If you are a Warrior then you need to be in shape, there is not doubt about that. One of the best workouts I have found out there has to be the Insanity program by Beachbody. I strongly believe that every Warrior must have this program if they want to continue to make serious gains in their level of physical fitness and this is why.

Rule #1 Talk about Fight Club

As professional Warriors, we all know that there are many challenges associated with training. Sometimes it’s the cost, the proximity, the time or the process of trying to find a credible trainer. Regardless of what the challenges (excuses) are, we owe it to our family’s, our colleagues and ourselves to maintain our skills. Recently I found one of the best ways to maintain my skills

Complete Leadership

There is a big misconception out there between the relationship of management and leadership. A lot of people strongly believe that as a leader you are not necessarily a manager and that mangers are not necessarily leaders. The true fact of the matter is that in order to effectively lead people you must posses the skills of a manager. As well managers will have greater success in executing their duties if they also have the skills of a leader. The term manager is often associated with resources, numbers and logistics. Whereas leaders are often described as those who can influence the behaviors of others. Well in reality if you are an ineffective manager then you will be an ineffective leader and vice versa. Ineffective leaders are usually a product of their inabilities in relation to the management of resources, finances, logistics and processes. Ineffective managers may have the necessary administrative skills however they lack the influential component of leadership.

Why do Warriors Need Combative training?

I am a big endorser of anything relating to combatives, fighting arts and physical protection skills. I have honed my skills over the years and helped others develop theirs. A big problem I have noticed lately is a decrease in offensive fighting skills when it comes to recruit and in service training for many organizations. This wouldn’t be an issue if our world had become less violent, with a decrease in attacks on Warriors. Although I do not have any statistics to back up this point, I believe that violence is increasing and attacks on those who protect others are also on the rise. I strongly believe that Warriors involved in training, leading and front line operations need to increase their fighting skills; for the following reasons.
